FAQ
What counts as a ghost job?
A listing that still looks active but has been open, refreshed, or reposted for much longer than it appears at first glance.
How are reposts flagged?
The detector compares original posting fields with newer refresh or modification fields. If newer timestamps conflict with an older credible posting date, the result calls that out.
Why are LinkedIn, Indeed, and Google Careers different?
Those are aggregators, not the employer's source ATS page. Direct aggregator lookups are blocked or too weak, so use the employer careers URL or the extension when it can recover the source apply link.
How accurate are the dates?
Direct ATS fields are strongest. Page metadata is weaker because employers can edit it. Archive dates are only fallback evidence and are treated as ceilings, not proof of the original post date.
What if no date is found?
The result reports no confident date instead of guessing. When available, it still shows the title, company, platform, warnings, and any weaker evidence.
Do you store any data?
Search history is tied to a session cookie so the app can show your recent checks. The site also uses lightweight analytics and error monitoring to keep the product working.
